We provide a wide range of core courses for students attracted by legal history. These courses provide a basic awareness of central topics in legal history, introduce significant analytical instruments employed by outstanding experts, and consider howthese have been and can be used inresearch. Besides, all first year postgraduate students attend a compulsory course,which provides an opportunity for the discussionof general issues and problems relating to the research of legal history, as well as helping studentsto clarify their topics and researchstrategies. Workshops, seminars and discussion for all postgraduate students are held during a term, and all students are expected to attend.

Orientations & Objectives

A wide variety of core and optional courses are provided to furnish you with essential theories, knowledge and skills of law. In addition to courses, a six-month placement is also available, during which you can capitalize on whatever you’ve learned in the School, exploring whatever you are passionate about. Considerable transferable skills can be gained in this period of time that would be difficult to understand through study alone.

Most students embark on varied work experience, placements or internships during their time at Lanzhou University.
