Honorary Professor of Law and Sociology, Oxford University, Honorary Fellow, Orleans College, Visiting Professor, Center for Risk and Regulation, London School of Economics. His line of research involves the sociology of legal procedure mainly legal decision-making, sociology of law, legal procedures, government regulation (especially decision-making and the use of discretion).
