Moving to China to study International law was a scary decision. At first, I found the prospect of learning a new language intimidating. This was my first time ever hearing of Lanzhou city. I was not sure of what to expect, needless to say I was extremely nervous. I did not know anyone in Lanzhou City. Now After three memorable years of studying here, I can now confidently say I call Lanzhou University my home.

 

In my first year of study I ventured into the fascinating world of Chinese language study. Learning Chinese is not only about studying the language is about learning the Chinese culture and immersing in the most colorful cultures of each of the 56 ethnic groups, every. With every stroke of Chinese writing there is history and meaning which was enlightening. Class excursions organized by the school around the country and the city were entertaining. We were given the opportunity to practice in the streets the Chinese we had learnt in the classroom, which is the best way to learn Chinese.

 

Learning Chinese has allowed me to effortlessly move around Lanzhou city and to experience the rich scenery that the city has to provide this has expanded my understanding of China as a whole. The location of Lanzhou university allows me to find the best things to do in the city. Lanzhou city is located in the northwest China Gansu province.  It is found at the heart of the silk road history with attraction such as the white pagoda mountain, the yellow river, Zhongshan bridge, and many others. Lanzhou as a capital city of Gansu province bridges the gap between metropolitan and traditional Chinese way of living. My new life in Lanzhou has taught me how to adapt and embrace different cultures. My favorite Lanzhou practice is waking up in the winter morning to get a bowl of the famous Lanzhou beef noodles.

 

Lanzhou University is located at the heart of Lanzhou city, within the industrial area. Lanzhou University has provided a comfortable learning and living environment. The attention to the needs of students both social and academic has made my 3 years stay an amazing experience. The facilities available to students such as the library makes for a study conducive environment. Lanzhou University has provided me with requisite resources to attain my education.

 

Lanzhou University is an institution that brings together cultures from all around the world. Interacting with different people from all around the world with similar goals and ambitions has been a refreshing and encouraging drive for my educational ambitions. I have had the opportunity to make friends from different parts of the world such as China, Cambodia, Afghanistan Kyrgyzstan etc. the university has given me an opportunity to grow as a person, both in culturally and academically.

 

Lanzhou University school of law is dedicated to enhancing the overall university experience. With a growing international student body, the faculty works to cater to the interests of a diverse population of students. The school of law offers a variety of majors with Knowledgeable professors who are very helpful when approached. Studying as a graduate student at Lanzhou University has been an amazing experience. The teaching quality is absolutely fantastic, and the resources provided by the librarians are extremely helpful. There are also many opportunities such as attending talks and events which are related to my field of International law.

 

Lanzhou University is an amazing place to interact with people from all walks of life. Intimidating at first but it doesn’t take long for one to appreciate the environment and diversity unique to Lanzhou University. I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience at the University. Apart from being rated among the top universities in China, Lanzhou University has lived up to my expected standards. The professors and faculty members are truly amazing. My experience so far has been a really thrilling one. Lanzhou University has become my second home.
