Salon on JESSUP International Law Moot Court Competition

On the afternoon of April 24th, an experience sharing salon on JESSUP International Law Moot Court Competition(JESSUP) is held at Room 1734, Qiyun Building. Professor Zhu Wenqi and Ms. Li Xiaojing attend as judges. Three students, Xiahou Lingxue, a graduate student of the class of 2020, Cui hanyue and Jiang Yirui, undergraduates of the class of 2018 majoring in Intellectual Property, share their experience in JESSUP with more than 50 students.

 

 

In order to provide necessary information for students who intend to take part in the next year`s JESSUP, Xiahou lingxue gives an introduction to the 2019 and 2021 JESSUP, and explains in detail the contest subject, process and form of JESSUP, her own experience, as well as questions might be raised by judges. Cui hanyue tells about the 2020`s contest subject and their strategies against the opposite party. Then he shares his interactions with the judges. Jiang Yirui talks about the significance of participating in JESSUP from the perspective of the university and himself. And he calls on the students to participate in the competition. The three students help the other students to have a better understanding of JESSUP and stimulate their enthusiasm for the competition.

Professor Zhu Wenqi is confident that students in LULS will do really well in the future JESSUP competitions, and announces that next year`s JESSUP will be held in Lanzhou University, which will further enhance the reputation of LULS and build up its academic influence. Then he discusses frontier issues of international law with students and puts forward some enlightening views, which greatly stimulates students' enthusiasm and interest in studying international law.

After the salon, Professor Zhu speaks highly of the activity. He affirms its importance for students to learn international law, and encourages students to participate in such competitions to promote their studies and constantly improve their professional knowledge of international law and practical ability.
