On the morning of July 13th, Lanzhou University Law School invited participants in the 2021 summer camp and some graduate students to visit the former site for the union of Red Armies forces at Huining county, which serves as a platform to associate themselves with what a profound footstep Gansu has ever ingrained in the party’s history.

Located on Huishi Road, Huishi Town, Huining County, it is now billed as a national cultural relics protection site. The previous one is 110 meters wide and 400.6 meters long, covering an area of about 44,718 square meters. It has been a revolutionary site expanded to commemorate the victory of the first, second and fourth fronts of the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army. The main buildings included the Red Army Joining Forces Building and the ancient city wall, the memorial tower, the Huining Red Army Long March Victory Memorial Hall, the Site for Red Army Social Gathering (Confucian Temple Dacheng Hall), and the Red Army Long March General Stone Tablets. After crossing the previous site from the main gate, entered the Red Army Joining Forces Building and the ancient city wall, on which the words “Huishi Men” are engraved. Indeed, the Building is the original city gate called “Xijin” gate. On October 8^th , 1936, the First, Second, and Fourth Front Army of the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army joined forces at Huining. In 1952, the People’s Government of Huining County, in order to commemorate the Red Army, shifted the function of this building for memorial. On the right side of the previous site is the memorial tower of the First, Second, and Fourth Front Army, as high as 28.78 meters. The 11-story memorial tower symbolizes a total length of 11 months during the Long March. Surrounded by three towers, the first nine floors are separated, and the last two floors are combined, embodying the concept of “When all this is said and done, truth comes, with the union of three armies”.

As for the Memorial Hall, it belongs to the exhibition type that integrates cultural relics display and modern multimedia. Under the theme of “Long March Victory”, it truly reproduces the heroic epic of the three main forces union of Red Army at Huining. Students was led by the instructor to have a tour around. Many cultural relics in the memorial made everyone stop for deliberation and liable to shed tears on historical events. Through the visit, the glorious and great history seems alive to everyone.

On the afternoon of July 13^th, students returned to Lanzhou University and visited the School History Museum. The exhibition hall is divided into four parts, including the way of justice, the light of justice, the practitioner of justice, the dream of justice. All these combined to show the course of running school since 1909, featuring the vigorous character of several generations living in the northwest while keeping the world in mind. It is also the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. Consequently, students also visited the Centennial Special Exhibition of Party History on the first floor of the School History Museum. Through the visit, the students were touched by the profound history of Lanzhou University, impressed by masters and moved by the spirit of perseverance and striving.
