The 2019 Launching Ceremony of

On the 26th of April 2019, Lanzhou University Law School in conjunction with the Gansu Provincial Higher People's Court, Lanzhou Intermediate People's Court and Lanzhou Chengguan District People's Court organized the 2019 launching ceremony of April 26th Intellectual Property Week .

This activity was carried out by our institute in the spirit of in-depth study and implementation of president Xi Jinping's socialist thought with Chinese characteristics in the new era and the spirit of the Nineteenth CPC National Congress, as well as the important exposition of president Xi Jinping on running the country according to law in an all-round way and the important guiding spirit of propaganda and education on the rule of law, and actively implementing the requirements of the '7th Five-Year Plan¡±. Among the attendees, were Yin Bingwen, member of the Trial Committee of Gansu Provincial Higher People's Court and President of Intellectual Property Trial Chamber, Li Xiaochun, Head of Lanzhou Intellectual Property Court, Liu Heng, Vice-President of Intellectual Property Trial Chamber of Gansu Provincial Higher People's Court, Wu Shuangquan, Vice-President of Lanzhou University Law School. Furthermore, Some judges from Gansu Provincial Higher People's Court, Lanzhou Intellectual Property Court, Lanzhou Chengguan District People's Court, staff and students of the courts,some of the teachers and students from the law school attended the launching ceremony. The event was hosted by Professor Wu Shuangquan, the Vice Dean of Law School of Lanzhou University.

At the launching ceremony, the student representatives of the Law School read out the 'Intellectual Property Protection Initiative', advocating that all students actively learn the legal knowledge of intellectual property rights, enhance the awareness of intellectual property protection, and strive to create a strong atmosphere for the whole society to pay attention, support and participate in intellectual property protection. Yin Bingwen, President of the Intellectual Property Trial Court of the Provincial High Court, presented 'Intellectual Property Voluntary Service' to the Team flag. At the ceremony site, teachers and students of Lanzhou University signed hundreds of signatures.

After the launching ceremony, representative judges of intellectual property of the three-tier courts, teachers and students of Lanzhou University Law School gathered together to hold an exchange meeting on intellectual property theory teaching and judicial practice. At the meeting, Judge Yin Bingwen, member of the Trial Committee of Gansu Provincial Higher People's Court and President of the Intellectual Property Trial Chamber, introduced the current situation of judicial protection of intellectual property rights in Gansu Provincial Court. He said that Lanzhou University is the only  university in the province that is listed as level-A in the 'Double-First-Class University Plan', and now it is more than a century ever since it was established. It is a famous university with a long history. This year marks the 110th anniversary of Lanzhou University. We hope to take this event as an opportunity to strengthen the cooperation between the school and the government  and also to jointly practice and safeguard intellectual property protection. Professor Wu Shuangquan, Vice-Dean of Lanzhou University Law School introduced the intellectual property teaching research and personnel training of the law school. He pointed out that the activities of 'Intellectual Property Entering Campus' carried out by the three-tier courts promoted the close integration of theoretical teaching and local judicial practice in universities, and provided an excellent opportunity for teachers and students of Lanzhou University to learn and communicate. He hoped that they could cooperate more in the future. There is need to strengthen intellectual property teaching research and personnel training. Participants also held warm discussions and exchanges on recent hot issues of intellectual property rights.
